About YORK SINGSOC
A tight-knit Singapore-centric community of students studying at the University of York.
The University of York Singapore Society is a student organised society, and while we don't boast quantity, we are confident in our quality. Being a member of SingSoc is just like being a part of a big extended family, where help can always be found, and there's always a listening ear if you need one.
The society holds multiple social events every academic year, with our most consistent events being CNY celebration, Christmas Dinner, and Senior Graduation party to list a few. Being such a small community, you don't ever have to worry about being forgotten, even if you can't make it to large scale events, there are always casual coffee and tea meet-ups in smaller groups of members in the society.
Aside from Singaporeans in the society, we also warmly welcome non-Singaporeans to join us in our fun and food experiences. Whether you've been to Singapore and now love the country as we do, or you just want to join your Singaporean friends, we hope you enjoy the time and maybe even pick up some of the cultural quirks too!
We hope the friendships and connections you make during your time here will stick with you and we hope to provide each and every singaporean student that joins us a home away from home.

Hi there. My name is Juliana and I’m your vice-President for SingSoc this year. I study Psychology in Education and like many of us on committee, am going into my third and final year (so I’ll definitely work hard to make it a good and memorable one ). Hello ladies and gents! I go by Jason, but sometimes you can call me Yours. I am currently the Secretary of Singapore Society and I major in Sociology and Social Psychology - 3rd year!
Obviously, I enjoy quite a bit of humour, and am down for drinks anytime! (Coffee/juice only)
