Café Hopping in York

Attention café hoppers! Whether you're in need of (yet again, another) a caffeine fix, or a new study spot - York has got you covered. As a self-proclaimed coffee addict, the cafés scene has been a huge part of York culture in my experience. And so, I present to you my favourite spots in York (complete with pictures!).

Gatehouse Coffee

Located within the city walls, Gatehouse coffee is a quaint little spot to study or catch up with friends! Sit inside the castle structure or along the walls - either way, it's a cosy little getaway.

Fossgate Social

A personal favourite of mine, Fossgate Social does an amazing coffee and doubles up as a bar come night-time! Would highly recommend spending some time in their beer garden in the summer and their weekly open-mic events.

Partisan

This French-style brunch place is a treat for the taste buds and the eyes! Their gorgeous bakes and food options never disappoint (I recommend the French toast!).

Brew & Brownie

One of the more popular spots in York and very high in demand! Known for their fluffy pancakes and home to more gorgeously baked goods - all at an affordable price too!

Spring Espresso

Another cute spot with great coffee and an all-day breakfast menu! Am a big fan of their full English breakfast at ridiculous hours of the day ;)

Cat Café

Last but certainly not least, the cat café! You'll have to book a slot in advance, but it's definitely a must-try. All the cats are incredibly friendly and curious, and the fact that some are up for adoption pulls at your heartstrings even more!!
